St Mary's Uttoxeter

Uttoxeter Gateway Club

1 Sep 2022 • General news

Uttoxeter Gateway Club is a social club and charity for adults aged 18 and over with learning disabilities.

We meet every Tuesday evening at Wilfred House from 6.30 to 8.30pm. If there is a special event the times may change. It’s all about meeting friends old and new, expanding interests and having fun.

We had an exciting summer. In June we took some members away on holiday to a Haven holiday in Wales. We had a fantastic time, slipping and sliding in the waterpark, enjoying a BBQ and a trip out to the coast where, of course, you have to have fish and chips! Lots of fun and games, and evenings of entertainment in their social complex.

On other evenings we’ve had BBQs, discos and games. A great deal of competitiveness goes on at our Ten Pin Bowling nights.

One lively event in July was a trip to Uttoxeter Races. We also enjoyed an evening games, food and drink followed by “Oh no you can’t, oh yes I can”. And we all went to see the pantomime at Doveridge village hall.

In addition to our club evenings, we also have days out to venues chosen by our members, so in August we had a day out at a wildlife park.

Fun, Friendship, Fulfilling, Fabulous.
